Butler Manufacturing Incubator Equipment Manufacturing Plant

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Butler Manufacturing offers a wide variety of large metal products to the agricultural community. Among them is a line of poultry incubators. As the demand for their products grew, Butler chose to build a new, modern, 100,000 square foot facility in LaGrange, Georgia, in which to consolidate its operations in this customer market.
Butler is a leading user and proponent of the design-build approach. This stems from its long-standing status as a leading manufacturer of pre-engineered metal buildings. Thus, it chose to meet its agricultural group’s new building needs with a modern, flexible steel building.
ACSI's RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working with Butler corporate personnel, architect and engineers, and with local contractors, ACSI studied the facility requirements using a structured analytical method which yielded the requirements for securities, life safety, communications, energy management, and other electronic systems. Subsequently, ACSI prepared systems designs for the LaGrange plant. This work stemmed from ACSI’s earlier engagements as Butler’s electronic systems consultant and engineer.
The energy management systems at the LaGrange plant, planned and designed by ACSI, play a key role in maintaining an efficient work place and controlling electrical energy costs. In fact, the original energy consumption targets established early in the plant design process have been easily met on a consistent basis.
The security systems incorporated in this modern facility are designed to protect plant assets and human safety. Access systems control personnel access on a dynamic permission basis which is interfaced to the fire detection and alarm system.
