LIBRARIES
Seattle Central Library
Seattle, WA
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This project was a replacement Central Library building for the Seattle Public Library in downtown Seattle. The 360,000 SF building has 11 floors and was designed to have a capacity of 1.4 million books. It also has more than 400 computers to provide access to the library's wealth of databases. It is expected to handle more than 8,000 visitors each day. This building is equipped with a state of the art fire alarm system, including a voice evacuation system and door control, as well as smoke control. COMMISSIONING SERVICES: Working as a sub-consultant to Engineering Economics, Inc. (EEI), ACSI was responsible for providing commissioning services for the fire alarm system. These services included a design review, development of a commissioning plan, contractor submittal reviews, development of functional test procedures and forms, and subsequent comprehensive system testing. The end-to-end performance of the fire alarm system and all associated components and devices was tested during this system testing. ACSI also provided a comprehensive commissioning test report. |
