Los Angeles County Central Jail Expansion

This project involved the expansion of the County of Los Angeles Central Jail Facility, which consisted of the construction of a 2,000-bed maximum-security single cell pretrial facility. The jail expansion project also included an inmate reception center capable of processing 30,000 to 40,000 inmates per month, a 50-bed acute care medical facility and Custody Division Administration offices.
ACSI was engaged directly by Los Angeles County to provide security planning, programming and specialized technical consulting services related to the development of the architectural program, including a preliminary cost estimate of the electronic systems and technical review of the final architectural program.
Upon successful completion of these services, ACSI was engaged by Los Angeles County to provide a specialized “scope of design” review and management services for the electronic security and communications systems. Through the development of specialized deliverables, ACSI was able to assist the County and the A/E team in maintaining continuity between the Sheriff's operation plan and the resulting design.
ACSI continued its design management services during the construction document phase. Specific services included:
ACSI continued to provide specialized construction management services for the County’s Internal Services Department. The scope of ACSI’s services was again focused on low-voltage systems construction.
