Nebraska State Prison
Tecumseh, NE

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
New 960-bed multi-custody facility for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services in Tecumseh, approximately 40 miles South of Lincoln. A campus style facility containing 17 separate structures for inmate housing, segregation housing, inmate services, food services, laundry, inmate industries, administration and support services. This project “raises the bar” for innovative design, increased operational efficiency and cost effective construction. Project construction cost was approximately $75M.
ACSI's RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a part of a multi-discipline design team, ACSI was responsible for the planning, design and construction administration of all facility security, communications and life-safety systems. Estimated at a cost of over $4M, these system types include touch-screen based integrated security control, microwave and fence disturbance perimeter security, CCTV surveillance, duress alarm, independent site intercom, inmate television, video visiting, and comprehensive voice/data communications. Due to the campus style building arrangement, systems designs included extensive underground duct banks in which to route copper and fiber optic wiring associated with systems operation.
