ACSI's RESPONSIBILITIES:
ACSI was responsible for design development, construction documents and construction administration of the following:
|
Telecommunications:
A facility has a large microwave antenna telecommunications tower, a radio frequency room, two telecommunications rooms (one on each end of the main building), and two remote distribution closets. Each workstation has both voice and data support. A fiber optics backbone and a cable tray in the ceiling cavity that interconnects the two telecommunications rooms. At least one phone/data outlet, wired with 4 Cat 6 cables, is provided for each workspace. Additional phones and data outlets are available in public and multiple user areas. Embedded conduits provide access to the free standing cubicles in the detective bay, and to selected areas where glazing prevents the use of wall mounted backboxes. |
Security:
Surveillance cameras are located on the exterior of the station and throughout the interior public and detention areas. The surveillance cameras are continuously recorded for incident review, including an audio channel for selected areas. Each of the interview rooms is wired for evidence support with owner provided cameras and microphones that are remotely recorded on VCRs located in the monitoring rooms. Authorized personnel who lack local access permission may gain access to the facility by contacting the staff officers in the Area Command Center (ACC). Intercoms cross‑linked with the surveillance cameras and strategically located at the vehicle gates, various perimeter doors, and a few interior doors, are used by the ACC for the recognition and admittance of visitors, and also for the assisted movement of detained personnel. Duress buttons, cross‑linked with surveillance cameras and tied back to the ACC, are located in all volatile areas. Also, each detention cell has an intercom that allows each occupied cell to be monitored in the report writing room, in addition to visual contact. |
