Monroe Correctional Center IMU/SEG Addition
Monroe, CA

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This project involved an addition of IMU/SEG buildings to the Monroe Correctional Center. The IMU side and SEG side of the new building each had 100 beds for a total of 200 beds combined. This addition was 78,000 SF and included the necessary administration areas to support the additional beds. The project was estimated to cost $21 million.
The addition was equipped with a modern fire alarm system, including audible/visual notification, various detectors, local monitoring, remote annunciation, and significant smoke control capacities. Also involved in the addition was a state of the art low-voltage security system which included door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, control panels and touchscreens, perimeter security system, and closed circuit cameras with a digital video recording system. The digital video recording system was also used to perform the functions normally associated with a video matrix switch.
ACSI RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working as a sub-consultant to Welsh Commissioning Group (WCxG), ACSI was responsible for providing commissioning services for the fire alarm systems and the low-voltage security systems. These services included a design review, development of a commissioning plan, contractor submittal reviews, development of functional test procedures and forms, and subsequent comprehensive system testing and observation. The end-to-end performance of the fire alarm system and low-voltage security system, as well as all associated components and devices was tested during this system testing. ACSI has also provided a comprehensive commissioning test report.
